After many years of working in the secular field, Danny surrendered to the ministry at the age of 53. He best describes himself as a bi-vocational pastor in the mode of the Apostle Paul, who continued supporting himself as a tentmaker while preaching the Gospel.
Danny served as a bi-vocational pastor at Cleo Springs Baptist Church in Cleo Springs, OK, from January 2002 through February of 2011. He was then called as the bi-vocational pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Newcastle, beginning in March 2011, where he continues to serve as head pastor.
Danny considers himself to be a pastor/teacher as his method of preaching is to teach God’s word verse by verse. He conveys the scripture in the full context of its meaning so that we may better apply it to our lives. If you hunger for a deeper understanding of God’s word, then you would be richly blessed through Danny’s teaching.
I am a man who lived a lie all my life, claiming to be a child of God when, in fact, I never knew Him. But, after being sent home with kidney failure to die, I realized I did not know God or His Son. It was then that I called out to God and asked Him to save me, and I have never looked back.
I surrendered to preach in this very church. I have had the opportunity to preach in many churches throughout Oklahoma, but the Lord keeps bringing me back to where it all began.
When I preach, I get easily excited and very loud, but that is because of what God has done for me. If you knew my testimony, you would understand.
Brethren, I have faith that God can do anything. I have witnessed many of the things He has done. And so could you, if you give Him a chance.
