My Story

Hello…
My name is Charles, and this is my story…

I was born in Oklahoma City and lived in a very depressed area of the city, along the Canadian River. I was child #9 of 10 children. When I was about 8 years old, I learned things that a child should not be exposed to, and the effects have lasted a lifetime. This adult has caused problems in my life.

I started going to church at 5 years of age and heard about God and how much He loved me. I gave my life to Jesus as my Savior. Although I have failed Him almost every day since then, He has never failed me.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

As a teenager, I started going to a small church that had mostly older members attending, but there was one very special lady. She enjoyed teaching the young peoples’ class, and we usually had 10 to 15 crazy teens in attendance. She would invite us to her home for fellowship, and we played games and had a good time. She used this time to witness to us about how we could decide what our life would be.

She stressed staying close to God and following His plan for our life, and how much happier we would be living for Him. This special lady made such a difference in my life.
At 21, I met a man who later became my brother-in-law. At that time, he was a man who would pick a fight with anyone. But when he came face to face with Jesus Christ and surrendered his whole life and began to serve Him and Him only, he turned his back on all the worldly pleasures he had once lived for. He became the older brother I needed. He influenced my life and helped me. He gave me biblical advice on how to live a godly life. With his help and guidance, I rededicated my life to Jesus.

I still have remembrances of those early years as a child. God helps me overcome the giants in my life. Jesus is there when they show up from time to time. I speak the name of Jesus and that old giant crawls back under his rock and leaves me alone. Jesus is the most powerful name that can be called upon in heaven and earth. In times of trouble and temptation, He helps me through it all. Praise the holy name of JESUS!

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, and will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” I Corinthians 10:13
